
Bourbon Bacon Jam
Add a kick of savory jam to elevate any meal
Ingredients
- 3/4 lb bacon cut into inch slices, then cut in half
- 1 large minced shallot
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Primo's Sherry Vinegar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup bourbon of your choice
- 1 tsp mustard
- 1 dash salt
Instructions
- Cook bacon in a pan until done. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate, reserving 1 tbsp of bacon grease in the pan. Discard the rest.
- Add garlic and shallot to the same skillet with that reserved bacon fat. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Add the remaining ingredients and stir. Simmer on low for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until it starts to thicken into a jam.
- As the liquid evaporates, add the bacon. Stirr off heat and let cool.
- Serve however you'd like and enjoy!
