August has arrived and that means only one more full month of summer. Time really does fly! With the close of summer comes the winding down of farmers’ markets. Don’t miss out on the chance to come and visit Primo at two markets here in the Louisville area.
Farmers’ markets are great because they stimulate the local economy, increase access to fresh and nutritious food, and promote sustainability. We love being a part of the local farmer’s markets and getting out into the community to bring you our gourmet olive oils and balsamic vinegar.
Farmers’ markets make it even easier for you to pick up your Primo products of Olive Oil or Balsamic Vinegar. Just choose the pick-up option from our website and select the farmers’ market that is most convenient for you.

DOUGLASS LOOP FARMERS MARKET
When: Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m April 2 – December 10
Where: The market is in the parking lot of Douglass Boulevard Christian Church
What: Local farmers, local food & local flavor! Douglass Loop Farmers Market is a non-profit outreach mission of the church to support local farmers and vendors and the local community to advocate for a healthy lifestyle and sustainable farming practices.
ST. MATTHEWS FARMERS MARKET
When: Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. May 14 – September 24
Where: The St. Matthew’s Farmers Market is located at 4100 Shelbyville Road, Beargrass Christian Church.
What: The St. Matthews Farmers Market was founded in May 2007 by a small and very determined group of members of Beargrass Christian Church. They had three objectives in mind:
- Creating a festive, family-friendly Saturday event, available free to everyone from late spring to early fall
- Providing a vibrant sales venue for local farmers looking to sell their home-grown produce; at that time, few such markets existed in Louisville or had available space for growth
- Continuing their congregation’s long tradition of reaching outside the church walls to serve the wider Louisville community.
For 16 years, the market has been serving the needs of St. Matthews and the larger community.
We’d love to see you out and about supporting the community at any of these farmers’ markets. Don’t forget you can order ahead from our website and pick up your order at whichever market is most convenient to you!
